Weâ€™re getting some new details on the super-secret Terminator Genisys from star Jai Courtney! Despite the film set to hit theaters in less than 9 months and two sequels already landing release dates, we know very little about one of next summerâ€™s most anticipated movies, but thanks to a couple recent interviews with Jai, who plays â€œKyle Reeseâ€ in the film, the veil of secrecy is slowly lifting. Right now, weâ€™re not even sure what box this new trilogy even fits into. Is it a sequel, reboot, remake or something else? In an interview with The Huffington Post, Jai revealed itâ€™s all of those and none at the same time saying quote, â€œWhat I can say is that we start in a place we're familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point. It's not necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I don't even know how you brand it correctly. We're not remaking one of the early 'Terminator' movies. And it doesn't necessarily carry on from the point where we left off." Though this doesnâ€™t reveal any specific plot details, weâ€™re thinking one of the best examples of how Genisys will work is Back to the Future Part 2. In that film, we see Marty having to put right some of the things from the first film that got altered when old Biff gave his younger self the Sports Almanac. Though the stakes will obviously be much bigger in Genisys, expect to see some of the events that took place in the first two Terminator films be recreated and altered, leading to an entirely new set of circumstances for our heroes to overcome. In a separate interview with TheArnoldFans.com, Courtney suggested that we will most likely see this new Terminator trilogy stamped with a PG-13 rating saying that he would love to see it be Rated R, but he doesnâ€™t think itâ€™s likely in this day-and-age. Donâ€™t expect any f-bombs, but he still promises a healthy amount of movie violence. As you probably know, all of the previous films have been Rated R, except for the last installment, which also happens to be the least successful of the sequels. As for the plan for the two follow-ups set for 2017 and 2018, Jai all but confirmed Arnoldâ€™s return saying it would be hard to imagine a Terminator movie without him. Production is expected to begin sometime in 2016 with the films will be shot back-to-back.
